Penny's 30-Day
Kids Savings Challenge
Build a daily savings habit in 30 days. Kids track their progress, earn stickers, and finish with an official Explorer of Pennyville certificate.
Why a 30-Day Challenge?
Because habits are built by repetition — and 30 days is exactly long enough to make saving feel automatic.
The research is clear: children who practice a habit daily for 4–6 weeks are significantly more likely to keep it. A savings challenge turns "save your money" from a rule into a routine. When the routine sticks, the results follow for life.
How the Challenge Works
-
Print the Tracker
Download Penny's 30-Day Savings Tracker from your email and print it out. Hang it somewhere your child sees it every day — on the fridge, near their piggy bank, or by their bed.
-
Set a Daily Savings Goal
It doesn't have to be a lot. Even 1 penny a day counts. The habit is the point, not the amount. Help your child choose a goal — a toy, a book, a trip for ice cream — and write it at the top of their tracker.
-
Check Off Each Day Together
Each day your child saves, they check off a box and add a sticker. Watching the tracker fill up is genuinely exciting — kids love seeing their progress made visible.
-
Celebrate on Day 30
When all 30 boxes are checked, print the Explorer of Pennyville completion certificate, fill in your child's name, and hang it proudly. They earned it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the 30-Day Kids Savings Challenge?
Penny's 30-Day Kids Savings Challenge is a free printable program that helps children ages 4–8 build a daily savings habit. Children track their progress on a printable chart, earn stickers for each day they save, and receive a completion certificate when they finish. The amount saved each day doesn't matter — the habit is the point.
How much should a child save each day in the challenge?
There's no set amount — even one penny a day counts. The goal of the 30-Day Challenge isn't to accumulate a specific sum; it's to build the daily habit of setting something aside. A child who saves one coin a day for 30 days has accomplished something far more valuable than the coins: they've formed a savings habit that can last a lifetime.
What age is the savings challenge right for?
The challenge is designed for children ages 4–8, but works especially well for ages 5–7 when children love tracking visible progress. For younger children (3–4), do the challenge together and help with the tracking. For older children, add a specific savings goal — like a toy or a special outing — to keep motivation high through all 30 days.
