The Story Behind Penny 💛

Penny's Learning World started with two little girls. 💕

Hi, I'm Tamika Price — and before I'm anything else, I'm a grandmother. My twin granddaughters, Malaiya and Miyanna, are my whole heart. To them, I'm simply Mi-Mi — and that's the title I'm proudest of. They are, quite simply, my legacy — the reason behind everything you see here.

For years, my life's work has been sitting beside families and helping them protect what matters most – making sure that when life happens, the people they love are cared for, and never left carrying a burden. It is tender, sacred work. And it taught me something I can never unlearn: a legacy isn't only what we leave behind — it's the love we pour in along the way.

I looked at these two little faces and knew I wanted to give them more than I was ever taught about money. I wanted them — and children everywhere — to grow up seeing money not as something scary or stressful, but as a gentle, loving tool for caring for yourself and the people you love. So I dreamed up Penny: a curious little pig who learns the way children really do — through stories, giggles, and the occasional happy mistake.

Penny teaches the first dollar. My life's work protects the last one. Same heart, different chapter – both about love, family, and making sure no one we hold dear is ever left unprotected.

So when you sit and watch Penny with your own little ones, I hope you can feel it right through the screen: she was made with love – by a grandmother who believes with her whole heart that every family deserves to learn little, grow big, and leave behind a legacy of love.
